Hi there! My name is Melissa Pittendreigh and I have the honour of being the teacher at David Thompson Playschool. We are rolling into my 8th year teaching here. This school holds near and dear to my heart as all 3 of my kids attended here and I was a board member for 6 years.

I completed my level 3 in Early Childhood Education in 2005. Since then I have always worked with children. From daycare, dayhome to Playschool. I absolutely love kids of all ages! They are absolutely the most precious part of our world, and that fact that I can have part in moulding our future world is very humbling.

I enjoy hunting, hiking, gardening, camping, animals (just wait till we hatch baby chicks, you see me in my most glorious state) and trying to keep up with my family. I am an okay skier, but don’t like heights, which includes the chair lift (see photo below ). If I’m not enjoying the company of littles and living our best life you can find me in a gym, rink or at a ball diamond somewhere. I’m loud and proud and love with all my heart.

My absolute favourite part of being a Playschool teacher and working with kids is the wonder snd exploration that goes hand and hand with it. Everyday is a new and exciting day of discovery and fun! We absolutely live our best lives at Playschool and have the best times together.
